Who We Support

Our services are open to anyone who has experienced trauma and needs a safe, non-judgemental space to heal and grow.

Everyone deserves support

Trauma does not discriminate — it can affect anyone, at any stage of life. At Shared Space Swansea, we work with individuals, families, schools, and organisations across South Wales to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support.

Whether you are seeking help for yourself, referring someone you care about, or looking for professional support for your organisation, we are here.

A young person looking thoughtful and hopeful

Young People

We provide a safe, supportive space for young people who are struggling with the effects of trauma — whether from adverse childhood experiences, family breakdown, or other difficult life events.

Our trauma-informed approach helps young people understand their experiences, build resilience, and develop the emotional tools they need to thrive.

Care Leavers

Leaving care can be an isolating and overwhelming transition. We offer dedicated support for care leavers navigating the challenges of independence, identity, and emotional wellbeing.

We understand the unique pressures care leavers face and provide a consistent, caring presence during this critical time.

Those Leaving Prison

Reintegrating into the community after a period of imprisonment can be deeply challenging. We support individuals to process their experiences, reduce the risk of reoffending, and build a positive path forward.

Our counselling helps address the underlying trauma that may have contributed to offending behaviour, supporting lasting change.

Parents and Carers

Supporting a young person through trauma can take a significant toll on parents and carers too. We offer support to help you understand trauma, strengthen your relationships, and look after your own wellbeing.

You do not have to navigate this alone — we are here to support the whole family.

Students in a supportive classroom environment

Schools

We work with schools across South Wales to deliver psychoeducational workshops and support staff in understanding and responding to trauma in the classroom.

Our school-based work helps create safer, more trauma-aware environments where young people can learn and flourish.

Community professionals working together

Community Services

We partner with a wide range of community organisations, charities, and statutory services to extend the reach of trauma-informed support across South Wales.

If you work with vulnerable individuals and would like to explore how we can support your team or the people you serve, we would love to hear from you.

Not sure if we can help?

Please do get in touch — we are always happy to have an informal conversation about whether our services are the right fit for you or the person you are supporting.
